The Alumni Association recognized over 146 AHS Alumni that served in our armed forces on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Alumni Hall. The program began with the Pledge of Allegiance as the colors were presented by the 118th WG USAF Honor Guard and the National Anthem was sung by performers, Holly Lynn and Lee Marcum. A roll was called recognizing 112 alumni veterans that had submitted information for the event. A second roll was called to memorialize 34 alumni and faculty that were fallen veterans. The 118th WG USAF Honor Guard performed the flag folding ceremony and presented our AHSAA President, Nancy Pope, with the flag that will become a part of our veteran/military archives. A slideshow presentation was shown as ’76 alumnus, USMC Gunnery Sergeant David Hale sang two tributes and Holly Lynn closed by singing “God Bless the U.S.A.” Attendees viewed an exhibit that displayed alumni military uniforms and artifacts as well as a display of 146 alumni veterans' military photos and information from the first graduating class of 1935 through 1995.
